Qualifying the Workforce
There is a wide and diverse spectrum of different occupations and scope for employment in the food industry of Lübeck and surrounding areas. Companies in this field will benefit from a strategic success factor if they engage in long-term, focused action to ensure that the increasing demand for high levels of employee knowledge, skill and personal development is met. Not only in terms of personnel marketing but also from the point of view of cost control and efficiency.
In order to ensure sustained competitiveness, companies must make a serious and determined commitment towards qualifying the workforce in a wide variety of occupational categories. To this end, both initial and ongoing training from a range of providers for individuals and groups is taking place within companies. For the food industry as a whole, within which there is a general demand for certain industry-specific key qualifications, considerable synergistic effects can be obtained from a collective training and qualification program. Demand profiling the industry will make it possible to define the elements required from the program and to devise concrete training and qualification measures.
The aim of the "Qualifying the Workforce" project is to lay the foundation for an industry-wide training and qualification program and, in the long term, ensure standardized, demand-driven, continually available provision.
